About artience
Founded in 1896, We are a chemical manufacturer with operations in 23 countries and regions.

In January 2024, TOYO INK SC Holdings
changed its name to artience.
In the midst of rapid changes in the social environment, we will continue to create what society truly needs. By refining the value that resonates with people's senses such as surprise and excitement ("art" value), and trust based on reliable technology and high quality ("science" value) , we are committed to transforming ourselves into a company that delivers “value that resonates with the senses” to the world.

Business overview
We operates three businesses: colorants, polymers, and inks. Our profit composition is well balanced between fine chemicals and inks.

Colorants Business

We offer a wide range of products that go beyond the scope of “coloring” applications, utilizing colorant synthesis technology and nano-level dispersion technology.

CNT dispersions
for lithium-ion batteries for EVs

Color resists for displays

Colorants for digital printing

Plastic colorants
for containers & automobiles
Polymer Business

By combining polymer synthesis technology and coatings technology, we are expanding our business into a wide range of fields such as electronics and packaging materials.

adhesives for packaging

Pressure sensitive adhesives
for electronics

Functional films

Businesses that will drive artience 's future growth
In addition to the global expansion of our carbon nanotube (CNT) dispersions business for lithium-ion batteries for EVs and packaging-related business , we will aim for further growth by providing value that resonates with the senses.
CNT dispersions for lithium-ion batteries for EVs

We are expanding our business as a conductive additive that contributes to the the high capacity, high output, and long life of batteries, thereby helping to extend the cruising range of electric vehicles (EVs).
Our sales targets are 7 billion yen in 2025, 15 billion yen in 2026, 20 billion yen in 2027, and 40 billion yen in 2028. (As of November 2024)
A leading manufacturer of CNT dispersions with five production sites in four regions of world

Market Growth Potential
- In order to realize a decarbonized society, EVs are progressing around the world, and demand for lithium-ion batteries is expected to grow
Our Strengths
- A leading manufacturer of CNT dispersions with five production sites in four regions, the U.S., Europe, China, and Japan
- Possesses a unique nano-level dispersion technology that separate fragile CNT fibers one by one.
We have developed fine dispersion technology for carbon black (CB), a conductive black pigment, by advancing the pigment dispersion technology that we have cultivated over many years for printing inks and automotive paints. We have further evolved our products into CB dispersions for automotive lithium-ion batteries and CNT dispersions for next-generation conductive materials.

Examples of providing value that resonates with the senses

Asahi Breweries, Ltd., which has been provided "deliciousness that exceeds expectations," and artience, which provide value that resonates with the senses that will surprise people.
The “Draft Beer Can,” which gained sudden fame, uses our “beer foam can coating” developed in collaboration with Asahi Beer Co., Ltd. Our technology, which has clarified and controlled the phenomenon of beer foam coming out when opening the can—something that is normally not allowed in canned beer—and Asahi Breweries' vision of creating a new type of canned beer have come together to create new value.
Asahi Breweries, Ltd. Jointly develops can coatings for "Draft Beer Cans"
Traditional Values
- Protect cans from the contents
- Prevents the metal components of the can from eluting into the contents and changing the flavor
New Value
- Forms uneven surfaces inside the can to optimize foaming
