As a result of the establishment of this scheme, it has become possible for tenants of the office building to procure renewable electricity, and as part of the concrete initiatives of the medium- to long-term sustainability vision "TSV2050/2030," which aims to achieve carbon neutrality by 2050, the Group has implemented the following initiatives from April 1, 2022: We will switch to 100% renewable electricity for the electricity used in the head office.
The renewable electricity to be introduced this time will be compatible with RE100, an initiative by companies and others that aims to procure 100% renewable energy for their business. As a result, approximately 650 MWh of electricity per year (equivalent to approximately 288 tons of CO2 emissions per year* in fiscal 2020 results) will be switched to renewable energy in the Group's proprietary areas, thereby substantially reducing CO2 emissions at the Group's non-production sites. In the common area of the office building, approximately 7,200 MWh per year (equivalent to approximately 3,175 tons of CO2 emissions equivalent per year in FY2020 results) will be switched to renewable energy.

Calculation formula: CO 2 emissions = TEPCO EP adjusted emission coefficient 0.443kg-CO 2 /kWh x electricity consumption kWh

THIS INITIATIVE IS THE SECOND EXAMPLE OF THE INTRODUCTION OF RENEWABLE ENERGY AT THE GROUP'S DOMESTIC NON-PRODUCTION BASES, FOLLOWING THE KANSAI BRANCH OF TOYO INK CO., LTD. (DAIBIRU MAIN BUILDING; KITA-KU, OSAKA CITY, OSAKA PREFECTURE, STARTED IN DECEMBER 2021).
