TOYOCHEM receives the Energy Conservation Center Chairman's Award at the 2022 Energy Conservation Awards

TOYOCHEM CO., LTD. (President and Representative Director Toshinori Machida, Chuo-ku, Tokyo) was awarded the 2022 Energy Saving Award in the Energy Saving Case Study category for its Kawagoe Factory's "deepening of energy saving activities in energy saving model buildings and horizontal deployment of energy saving methods". Received the Energy Conservation Center Chairman's Award. This is the second time we have received this award, following 2020.

The Energy Conservation Grand Prize is sponsored by the Energy Conservation Center, a general incorporated foundation, and recognizes outstanding energy conservation initiatives implemented by businesses and workplaces that serve as role models for others, as well as products and business models with excellent energy conservation performance.
TOYOCHEM Kawagoe Plant has been in operation for more than 60 years, and since energy efficiency has continued to be poor, we have selected an energy-saving model building since 2018 and have been working to improve the energy efficiency of our production equipment. From 2020, we will deepen energy-saving activities such as automatically controlling equipment operation and conditions according to production status, and we will horizontally roll out these initiatives to the four polymer production buildings at the Kawagoe Plant, thereby increasing the efficiency of all polymer-related departments. We have reduced energy consumption equivalent to 212kL of crude oil equivalent, which is 6.3% (based on 2020 as the base year). We received this award in recognition of these efforts and our energy-saving results.

TOYOCHEM will contribute to the creation of a sustainable society that is in harmony with the environment by working towards further energy conservation and building and maintaining an environmental management system that contributes to reducing environmental impact.
