(President and Representative Director Satoru Takashima, Chuo-ku, Tokyo is pleased to announce the opening of Incubation CANVAS TOKYO, a global co-creation center to support innovation in the materials field, on October 30, 2025, at Kyobashi Edgrand (2-2-1 Kyobashi, Chuo-ku, Tokyo), located a 5-minute walk from Tokyo Station.

Incubation CANVAS TOKYO (formerly known as Incubation CANVAS Program) is a co-creation center that "connects technology and ideas" specializing in the materials field. While the materials industry requires a lot of time and capital to develop technology, it is also fraught with issues that are prone to fragmentation from market creation and stagnation of innovation due to the lack of collaboration with different industries. This co-creation center accelerates the social implementation of science by bridging material technology and applications.

Member Service Overview

1. Open innovation
   More than 25 organizations, including leading venture capital firms in Japan and abroad, including Pegasus Tech Ventures, top-level universities, and highly specialized innovation support companies, will participate as strong partners.
   By providing opportunities to efficiently meet cutting-edge technologies and key people in the field of high-quality materials by leveraging the global perspectives and networks of our partners, we will support the innovation of a diverse range of players in industry, academia, and government, including manufacturing-based operating companies, material startups, academia (universities and research institutes), and investors, who aim to solve social issues and create new value.
2. Learning & Networking
   We plan to hold pitch events for promising materials startups in Japan and overseas, introduce cutting-edge research seeds in the materials field held by academia, and provide multiple human resource development programs to learn the skills necessary for innovation.

Information on holding the opening event

A grand opening event will be held on Thursday, October 30, 2025, the opening date. At this event, we will introduce the vision and specific initiatives of Incubation CANVAS TOKYO, as well as a seminar on global trends in the materials industry and a special lecture by Shu Yamaguchi, an author who advocates the restructuring of art and science in management.
