TOYO INK, cooperative production, Toyobo establishes a "horizontal recycling" scheme for product sample sheets for vending machines

Supports everything from printing inks deinking and re-filming to reproducing product sample sheets

Printing on plastics plays an important role in displaying necessary information and enhancing design, but it is difficult to separate printing inks from the substrate, which is one of the factors that hinders the promotion of recycling. In 2023, TOYO INK developed a deinking technology to remove UV-curable inks printed on plastic, and has been working to recycle product sample sheets for vending machines in collaboration with beverage brand owners and a wide network. In order to further advance this initiative and realize horizontal recycling, it was necessary to deink the ink from the collected product sample sheets and then re-film them.
Toyobo has established a series of recycling schemes in which Toyobo re-films product sample sheets that have been removed ink using TOYO INK 's ink removal technology using its own film making technology, and cooperative production uses the film to regenerate it as product sample sheets. We have already started demonstration tests and are promoting initiatives for the social implementation of "horizontal recycling" of product sample sheets for vending machines.
This scheme will be exhibited at the "Sustainable Materials Exhibition" to be held at Makuhari Messe from November 12 (Wed) ~ November 14 (Fri), 2025 at TOYO INK and Toyobo's booth.
