Toyo-Morton Saitama Factory Introduces Carbon Offset City Gas with Net Zero CO2 Emissions

artience group Toyo-Morton, Ltd. (President and Representative Director Takashi Nishio, Chuo-ku, Tokyo) has switched all city gas used at its Saitama factory (Hiki District, Saitama Prefecture), which manufactures and develops laminating adhesives, to carbon offset city gas (contributing to the global environment) with net-zero CO2 emissions starting August 1, 2026. As a result, CO2 emissions will be reduced by approximately 300 tons annually.

The newly introduced carbon offset city gas (contributing to the global environment) utilizes voluntary credits issued and traded by private sector entities such as companies and NGOs. By offsetting greenhouse gases generated throughout the entire value chain from natural gas extraction to combustion with CO2 credits generated by global environmental conservation projects in emerging countries and other countries, CO2 emissions can be considered zero globally.

Toyo-Morton At the Saitama plant, in April 2022, all electricity used was switched to effectively renewable energy sources using tracking FIT non-fossil certificates, resulting in a CO2 emission reduction of over 99% compared to before March 2022. This initiative is the first case at our group's domestic production sites.

Toyo-Morton will continue to reduce energy consumption by improving production processes and upgrading to high-efficiency production equipment, and will work to reduce CO2 emissions throughout the entire product lifecycle by providing sustainability-contributing products.
