TOYOCHEM 's newly developed polyimide electrodeposition coating is a high-performance coating agent that achieves heat resistance, insulation, and edge coverage that far exceeds that of conventional electrodeposition coatings.
It is capable of thick film coating of 100 μm, and its excellent edge coverage allows it to form a uniform insulating film even in complex shapes and corners. In addition, the high heat-resistant structure unique to polyimide resin maintains a breakdown voltage of over 10 kV even after 500 hours × 220°C.

High edge coverage even with thick film coatings

The figure below shows the results of evaluating the edge coverage of this product. When thick film coating was applied to 2.5 mm square copper, the edge coverage rate was achieved at more than 80%. It also shows excellent edge coverage even in corners where film thickness is generally insufficient.

Heat resistance test results Maintain breakdown voltage of 10kV or more
Heat resistance test results
This product has high thermal stability, with a glass transition temperature of more than 200°C and a 5% weight reduction temperature of 400°C or more. Even after the cold and thermal shock test, the adhesion is good, and no deterioration is observed. Even after 500 hours × 220°C, the insulation retention rate is about 100%, and the breakdown voltage is over 10kV, which has been confirmed to maintain insulation and reliability for a long time even in high-temperature environments.
* Insulation retention rate = breakdown voltage after test / initial breakdown voltage
