TOYOCHEM opens a new building at Kawagoe Factory for prototyping and production of new resins

~Accelerating new resin development and DX transformation, aiming for semiconductor peripheral materials in the first phase~

TOYOCHEM CO., LTD. (President and Representative Director Toshinori Machida, Chuo-ku, Tokyo) is building a new polymer pilot building at its TOYOCHEM Factory, which will carry out trial production and medium-scale production of new resins and processed products that Toyochem has not previously handled. (Kawagoe City, Saitama Prefecture) and began operations in April 2023.

Toyo Ink Group's polymer business utilizes acrylics, urethanes, polyesters, and composites thereof, and can coatings We have developed our business mainly in pressure sensitive adhesives, laminating adhesives, and ink resins. In this context, we have expanded our technological base that can be designed in-house from polymers, and in recent years, we have been developing various environmentally-friendly products and coatings for electronics. We are developing a variety of high-performance products such as products. However, we believe that there will be situations in the future where we will not be able to meet the needs of our customers with only conventional polymer types, so we have opened a new building at the Kawagoe Works, a polymer pilot building, where we will precisely conduct prototype production of new resins and their processed products on a medium-scale scale.
More than 60 years have passed since the Kawagoe Works began operation, and due to changes in the product mix and aging equipment, we have been scrapping and building for some time. In addition to the relocation of the existing pilot area, the newly constructed polymer pilot building will serve as a model building for prototyping and production of new resins, as well as data accumulation and utilization for the promotion of smart factories. TOYOCHEM WILL ACCELERATE THE SPEED OF DEVELOPMENT BY CREATING NEW PRODUCTS AND BUSINESSES AT THE POLYMER MATERIALS LABORATORY AND PROTOTYPING AND MASS PRODUCTION AT THE POLYMER PILOT BUILDING.
The new resins to be prototyped and produced in the first phase of the Polymer Pilot Building will be condensed polymers with heat resistance and flexibility. With this new resin, we will propose products that meet the needs of the times, such as use in semiconductor peripheral materials, high-speed communication materials, and functional adhesives for EVs.
TOYOCHEM AIMS TO BE A COMPANY THAT CAN CONTRIBUTE TO SOLVING SOCIAL ISSUES AROUND THE WORLD BY MATCHING ELEMENTAL TECHNOLOGIES BORN FROM ITS PROPRIETARY POLYMER TECHNOLOGY WITH CUSTOMER NEEDS AND DEVELOPING INNOVATIVE PRODUCTS TOGETHER WITH CUSTOMERS.
