Liofresh™ Color, a natural plant-derived pigment, is widely used in food, cosmetics, and dyeing applications as a food additive coloring formulation.
Our representative product, safflower yellow pigment, is a yellow pigment obtained by extracting from the tubular flowers of safflower (Carthamus tinctorius L.) of the Asteraceae family, and the main component is flavonoid safflomine. The raw material, safflower flower, is mainly grown in China, India, etc., and the coloring is used in beverages, frozen desserts, pickles, confectionery, desserts, etc.

Characteristic

tone

It exhibits a bluish yellow color at pH 2 to 7, with almost no color change.
It is alkaline and causes a slight redness.
There is little turbidity or sedimentation, and it is possible to create vivid color schemes.

Solubility

Soluble in water and propylene glycol, insoluble in fats and oils.

flavor

It has a slight safflower-like smell.

Effect of metal ions

There is almost no effect on metal ions. However, Fe2+ and Fe3+ tend to darken the color slightly, so consideration must be given to the iron content.

Effects of drugs

Discolors due to sodium hypochlorite. Addition of ascorbic acid improves heat resistance and light resistance.

Please store in a cool place, shielded from light as much as possible.

Usage standards/precautions

  • This product cannot be used with the following foods.
    1. Kelp, meat, beans, vegetables, seaweed (excluding processed foods)
    2. Fresh seafood (including whale meat), tea, seaweed
  • Browning occurs due to iron ions.
  • It has good dyeing properties for starch, but weak dyeing for protein.
  • Since the main ingredients are polyphenols, please be careful of precipitation when combining with pigments that contain a lot of protein, such as gardenia blue pigment.
