Alkaline aggregate reaction suppression performance test

[By the Railway Technical Research Institute]

Test method

Specimen: Ordinary Voltland cement, 10 x 10 x 40 cm, maximum aggregate size 25 mm, total alkali content 3.0% R2O, water cement ratio 55.1% slump 11 cm, air content 4.7%
Test specimen curing conditions: After pouring, demolding after 2 days in 20℃ humid air, 300g/m2 applied to the entire surface after 14 days in 20℃ 60%RH air, outdoor exposure started after 3 days in air.
Measurement method: Periodically measure expansion rate (comparator method) and weight change

Test results

Change in expansion rate of concrete specimen (alkali content: 3.0%R2O)
Test results
Weight change of concrete specimen (alkali content: 3.0% R 2 O)
Test results

Water absorption ratio of concrete after outdoor exposure

Test method

Specimen: Ordinary boltland cement, 10×10×10cm concrete, W/C=60% slump 18cm
Cured for 14 days at 20℃ air drying
After 3 years of exposure, one side of the specimen was soaked in water, and the amount of water absorbed 24 hours later was measured to determine the weight change rate.

Electricity transmitted through concrete after outdoor exposure

[By Kanazawa Institute of Technology]

Test method

Specimen: Ordinary boltland cement, 10×5cm concrete, W/C=60%
10 days before the specified exposure period, the specimen was taken indoors, air-dried for 10 days, then submerged in water at 20°C for 1 month, according to the rapid chloride ion permeability test according to the AASHTOT-277 standard. A low voltage of 60V was applied between a 3% NaCl aqueous solution and a 0.3% NaOH aqueous solution that were in contact with both end faces of the specimen, and the amount of electricity transmitted over 6 hours was measured.
