TOYOCHEM Kawagoe plant

Kawagoe plant was established in 1959 in “Little Edo” Kawagoe and has been expanding its business to include interior and exterior coatings for cans, resin synthesis business related to adhesives, plastic colorants, and functional films and tapes products.
Today, Kawagoe plant is positioned within the artience group as the core production site (mother factory) for polymer and coating-related products.

Awards and Recognitions

We have received the Chairman’s Award from the Energy Conservation Center three times, in 2020, 2022, and 2024.
IIn 2022, we were also honored with the Excellent Presentation Award.
Building on this expertise, we have launched an energy-efficiency consulting business to support external partners in developing and implementing energy-saving initiatives.

“Nearly ZEB”-certified technical administration building

Completed in 2022, our new Technical Administration Building achieved more than a 75% reduction in energy consumption through a combination of energy-saving and on-site energy generation measures, becoming the eighth building in Japan to obtain “Nearly ZEB” certification.
In addition to a range of energy-efficiency initiatives—such as horizontal eaves inspired by Kawagoe’s traditional kura-style architecture to reduce direct solar heat gain and lower air-conditioning loads—the building incorporates an on-site PPA-model solar power system supported by a subsidy from Japan’s Ministry of the Environment. As a result, the building achieved a 76% reduction in net primary energy consumption and received both “Nearly ZEB” certification and the highest five-star rating under Japan’s Building-Housing Energy-efficiency Labeling System (BELS).
